Searching for a link to the MoveableType bookmarklet I stumbled across this fabulous little treasure trove of useful bookmarklets for web development - blog of francois: Bookmarklets and other useful things for IE.
A bookmarklet is simply a tiny javascript program that fits into the space of a URL. In essence the link that would normally take you to somewhere else on the web can be made to perform simple tasks like resizing your browser, calculating the page weight, showing you the style sheets for this page, revealing the cookies that were set and so on.
Francois' post is has brief description of the bookmarklets he uses and great summary of links to places to learn more about these little gems.

a particularly useful use for bookmarkelts is to autofill common elements in forms, etc. it's a good idea to have separate bookmarklets for every log-in page you access daily.
