FarCry Opensource: CFMX Based Content Management

What is it? FarCry is an open source CMS, originally developed by Daemon. It's fully functional, and runs in a variety of Enterprise environments today.

Who can use it? Anyone who wants to! The open source license is Common Public License 1.0 -- very open and unrestricted.

What does it run on? It requires the Macromedia ColdFusion MX platform and a viable enterprise database (currently support MSSQL, Oracle and we're working towards mySQL and Access). Windows 2k+ is the only supported platform -- but developers who want to get a *nix platform going please contact us.

Open Source We've only recently released the product as open source and so we're still trying to get our heads around how we support this initiative. Already we have some Frequently Asked Questions. If we could be doing anything better -- let us know.

Demo There is a FarCry Demo Site where you can login and play around with a basic installation. This means you can get a feel for the extensive functionality before you attempt to download and install the complete application.

Support FarCry will be community supported -- much the same as any open source initiative. Daemon will also be providing comprehensive commercial support options for development teams that want to adopt the solution but still require extended warranties, technical support and customisations.
