Macromedia plans R&D facility in B'lore

Looks like Macromedia will be hiring nearly 200 people with C, C++ and Java skills for the facility in Chennai, scheduled to be ready by September'04.

I wonder if this has more to do with capitalising on one of the worlds great untapped markets and building a suite of Indian products -- or if we will really see new and innovative products being released out of the sub-continent.

Perhaps we'll see JRUN parked in a maintenance cycle out of Chennai. Not that this is a bad thing -- J2EE servers are pretty much a commodity these days. I'm much more excited about things like Blackstone.
