Nectarine: Real World Animation

Real World: Rocket BoyThe boys and girls at Nectarine have finally released their marvellous Real World animation. Folks may have seen a sneak peak of this during their presentation at MXDU. A fantastic mixture of 2D Flash animation, and more visceral 3D modelling to put together a professional music video.

Amalia Fitzgerald's lyrics for her song "Little Town" were the main inspiration for our clip "Real World".

ABC have recently released a site dedicated to the 4 Minute Wonders competition. The Nectarine section features a breakdown of how Real World was constructed, the film itself and even the team's own audio commentary.

The only tradgedy here is the videos are provided by ABC as a choice of low and hires streamed Windows Media Player or Real Player. I mean wtf ABC? Seriously, talk about way to destroy the moment -- these formats really seem to suck compared to the Flash video options available.

Update
Nectarine have a little mini-site with stills and a progressive download flash format for the video -- not as high res as the one on ABC. Found on their newly released blog: Nectarine Juice (already syndicated on Fullasagoog :)
