MXDU: Early Sighting of the Flex Logo
Not only did we get a great sneak peak of Flex at the keynote of MXDU day 2, many many thanks to Tim Buntel and Ben Elmore for the fantastic tag team event, but I'm now wondering if we didn't unknowingly get a very early look see at the Flex logo. I just did a quick check of the Flex home page at Macromedia and see nothing there so...

MXDU: Keynote 2 - Blackstone is Lumber-Enabled!!
Tim Buntel's preview of Blackstone (the next version of ColdFusion) this morning was very impressive, but then Tim is always good value. We saw how BlackStone can generate beautiful looking Flash forms with a minimum number of tags.

MXDU: Ribbon Envy
MXDU this year introduced the ribbons that have been familiar at DevCon & MAX for some time. While some had commented on the number of ribbons I had managed to acquire, I came accross someone that managed to out-ribbon everyone.

MXDU: Keynote Day 1
It's taken me a day to get organised but I've just uploaded some photos from the keynote speach from day one of MXDU. John Treloar of Macromedia demoed Flash on devices including Leapster, FlashLite & FlashCast. Mike Chambers demoed Central, he also spoke later in the day on Central in a session.

MXDU: Photo Albums
I've taken a few photos of MXDU events to date. Three public ablums are available so far, I'm busy beavering away at the third here at the back of the main ballroom at MXDU waiting for the Day One Keynote to begin - a very cool jazz three piece is on stage playing very mellow tunes to entertain the folks arriving - the whole venue is covered by wireless.

MXDU: Wedding Bells
Probably the biggest surprise at MXDU to date is that one of our international presenters got married today in a small ceremony at the Sydney Botanical Gardens...

Central RadioButton Component: Undocumented Feature?
I just had a really quick look for this, as far as I can see this is undocumented. Central will display the full text as a tooltip on mouse over if the value you set as a label for a Central RadioButton component is longer than the actual length of the component on the stage. Normally the text would be truncated at the end of the component.

Bloggers at MXDU
A number of regular Full As A Goog bloggers will be attending MXDU this year, I thought that I'd put up a list of who you can expect to hear news from next week.

Start Page Changes
I don't know about you but I really like the Start Page in Flash MX '04, use it all the time. Just launched Flash MX '04 Pro to find a surprise treat... In the lower left of the Start Page is now a Google powered search form to search Macromedia.com, did a quick ego search, why not, and it works like a treat!!! Wasn't there a couple of hours ago, to whoever dreampt this one up thanks - it's nanna goat sweet!!!

Who millionaire becomes times differently
I've been following the adventures of Kai König and his girlfriend Diane as they blog their travels from Germany across Australia to Sydney for Kai to speak at MXDU (http://www.diane-und-kai.de/). It's in German and I've been translating it at BabelFish with interesting results, hence the title of this post...

MXDU: Photographers Welcome!
At the end of MXDU last year we realised that we'd all been so busy enjoying ourselves that we'd not stopped and taken any photos of the event. Thanks to those who attended and contributed images for us to use on the site; Justin, Kai, Jesse & Peter. This year we've already organised at least one photographer, yours truly, but I'm sending out a message now to all those with digital cameras or phones with cameras who might be taking them to MXDU to get in contact with me if you're interested in being a contributor as well. We're hoping to have daily updates of the goings on.

MXDU: Flex & Blackstone Exclusives
If you weren't a recipient of yesterday's Macromedia mail out you may not already know MXDU's late breaking news. Tim Buntel, ColdFusion Product Manager, will now be joining the likes of Mike Chambers, Branden Hall & Guy Watson to present at MXDU (http://www.webdu.com.au). I'm looking forward to meeting Tim again myself and to hear the very latest about Blackstone, the next version of ColdFusion announced late last year at MAX. Ben Elmore will be delivering a Flex preview as well. Check the conference schedule for more details. http://www.webdu.com.au/go/agenda/conference-agenda

Oscar Trelles: Blog reskin & readying for the journey south
Oscar Trelles has just overhauled the look of his great flash blog. I especially like the cleaner lines, groovy flash photo-header and the little "where in the world" indicator. I'm sure its all in preparation for his impending escapade to Sydney, Australia.
