Presentations

A collection of presentations given at conferences and webinars.

FarCry Picnik & Keyword Plugins

One of the great innovations of FarCry Core 4.0 (the Gonzales release) was the introduction of plugins. The FarCry concept of Plugins can be just about anything from simple changes in UI controls to complete applications. At the tail end of an eSeminar, I gave a sneak peak to a couple of my favourite plugins. Well worth a look if you have 10 minutes to spare.

FarCry 5.0 (Fortress) eSeminar Recording

With FarCry Fortress' imminent release, what better time to kick up your heels and catch up on what the FarCry community has been up to? From bare-bones installation right the way through to fully functioning application. If you haven't had time to download FarCry CMS, this eSeminar recording might just give you the encouragement to give it a whirl.

FarCry Fortress Sneak Peaks

Tonight! If you want to kick back you heels and listen to an overview of FarCry there are several upcoming presentations that might be of interest. With the upcoming release of FarCry 5.0 (Fortress), these are the first opportunities to take a look at some of the latest features to come out of this vibrant community.

FarCry Inspire Session Notes & Codebase

Just following up from my MAX FarCry Inspire session. I've made the slide notes and entire code base of the demo available for download. I did my best to record the presentation and apparently that will be made available sometime next month.

FarCry: Birds of a Feather at MAX Chicago

Looks like I won't have to crash another Birds of a Feather at MAX Chicago -- FarCry now has its very own BOF: Monday, 8.30PM Room 176B. I'll be there for the whole session dishing out tid-bits on what's new and upcoming. Will also demo a variety of the new features that have been leaking into the current maintenance branch ;)

Ignite Your Community

Looks like I'm on the short list of Ignite speakers vying for 5 minutes of fame in the keynote this week. Am doing a quick piece on how you can contribute to the open source communities you are involved in and really make a difference.

Taming the Code at Web On the Piste

Recently got back from a great week away at Web On The Piste. Was talking on the topic of Code Management and implementing Subversion. I've included my slides for those that are interested. I've been trying to write up thoughts on version control and the like in the blog, so if you see anything in there that takes your fancy drop me a comment and I'll see if I've got a moment to elaborate.

Inspire Session: FarCry Core is More Than Just a CMS

Been working on an entertaining demo of what FarCry Core is really all about; building web applications. If you're at MAX be sure to check out my Inspire session on Wednesday after lunch. I'll be around for the week, talking up ColdFusion and the whole FarCry caper.

Taming the Client Recording Available

A quick follow up on my "Taming the Client" presentation; recording now available online. It's not your typical developer topic but I think its always fascinating to know how other companies tick. Essentially these are some of Daemon's methodologies laid bare. How do you manage web projects?
