Popularity of ColdFusion Frameworks
FarCry is getting increasingly popular since the 4.0 release. It's a mature product, in a commodity space so seeing that sort of traction is really motivating the Daemonites. It's interesting to compare the relative popularity of various ColdFusion framework Google Groups. Turns out FarCry tops the list despite playing second fiddle in many peoples perception.
FarCry has developer, user and beta lists. And the numbers don't include various folks who post exclusively through the Nabble web interface.
It's not meant to be anything but an indication of developer base -- one framework is not better than another based purely on the number of developers on lists. Certainly Fusebox and its numerous spin-offs would command a much larger audience. Plus FarCry has the unfair advantage of being a solution as well as a framework -- so I'm sure there are many developers who sign up without taking the framework out of the garage.
Still its interesting to see the comparative interest in the platform.

I wonder...
How much cross pollination there exists between the various lists. I for one am on both the MG and the Mach lists.

Popularity or ease of use?
Does increased Google Groups use indicate greater popularity or steeper learning curve? :-p

Availability of Support
I think the increased use indicates the amount of community involvement and potential support. This certainly means that people need to look into Farcry if they haven't already.

..or maybe?
The problem would be that many server still do not allow farCry CMS eventhough its a known software. Some still have problems with installation eventhough the guide is writen better than most guides are. In ROmania and Bulgaria for example farCry is not that known, very few users.. In Moldova and Ukraine its the same thing with the comment that they still have private schools where you can read more about it. I went to a seminar 2 weeks ago ( Public relations with subject : web communication ) and one of the spokerperson brought in question this problem of CMS not being known enought in eastern Europe. I think it would be interesting to see you at some seminars here.
