FarCry 3.0.1 Released

written by Geoff Bowers on Sunday, 9 April, 2006 @ 12:00 AM

3.0.1 is the first maintenance milestone post the epic "Glamour" release last year. There are a host of tweaks and changes that are a must for all platforms. If you're running FarCry 3.0 this update should be considered mandatory.

All the information you need:

There are still a number of known issues we had hoped to deal with didn't quite make it including:

  • The installer is still not updated. You will need to run the b300 and b301 updaters post installation. Check the installation notes on the downloads page.
  • Oracle still not supported for the 3.0 release. We have a working model and this option is now due for 3.0.2
  • Ongoing issues recorded at the FarCry bug database

We're hoping to increase the frequency of maintenance releases, with a likely drop in the number of fixes per release. Internally Daemon normally runs from a version on the maintenance branch (currently p300) that is later than that in the published milestone release - and we've been a bit slow putting the final stamp on approval. We're endeavouring to give the community at large improved performance in this area.

Note you can always get the latest code base direct from the CVS repository for FarCry or Jeff Couglin's automated FarCry nightly build page at any time.
